“Republican Women Leading the Way!”

Recommendations for the November 2008 Ballot by Anne Blake

Welcome to the San Ramon Valley Republican Women Federated ~ dedicated to the promotion of the Republican philosophy and the election of Republican candidates.

San Ramon Valley Republican Women Federated (SRVRWF) was founded in 1950 by a small group of women, of the valley, spearheaded by Bethel Van Tassel of Alamo. The formation meeting was held at the house of Charlotte Carlsen Miller at the Corduroy Ranch in Danville. This was the former house of Playwright Eugene O’Neill and is now known as the Tao House. Since our founding we have grown to over 168 members who have a purpose…the promotion of the Republican Philosophy and the election of Republican candidates; presentation of local and national issues; legislative and ballot measures, and to provide a forum for discussing these issues. We possess a unique mixer of younger and older members, who together, provide a winning combination of experience and innovation. The SRVRWF also sponsors a number of community outreach programs. Currently we are supporting the “No Child Left Behind” program, Mamie Eisenhower Library project and Caring for America project. Our members are also actively involved in the Voter Registration and the Get Out the Vote (GOTV) program.

The SRVRWF is a Diamond Award Winning Chapter of the National Federation of Republican Women & the California Federation of Republican Women.

Legislation

“CFRW maintains a fulltime Legislative Advocate and Lobbyist. Through our Advocate’s Weekly Update we are provided with constant monitoring of activities surrounding our State Capitol and of importance to our members of our Federation. As we proceed through State Legislative Year many bills are worth studying and warrant further education. These are not necessary bills and legislation on which we have taken a position as an organization but items that we continue to monitor.”
